Perumpilavu

Perumpilavu is a beautiful village located in north of kunnamkulam in Thrissur district. Thrissur with its wealthy history, artistic heritage and archeological wealth is the cultural capital of Kerala. It is famous all over the world for its pooram festival. Perumpilavu belongs to kadavallur panjayath in Thrissur district which was formed in 1961.It is a trijunction of the town’s kuttipuram, patambi and kunnamkulam. It lies between 25 to 150 m above the sea level.The kadavalloor panchayathe covers an area of 24.84square kilometer.

 Till 20^th century the area was mostly covered by forest and most wild animals like lion, leopards and rare specious of birds were found there. Many people were engaged in cattle farms and poultries. They were basically farmers. Later on many changes took place and now perumpilavu have grown up to place where many institutions, shops and other business trading centers can be found there.

Ansar English School Perumpilavu

One of the major institute in perumpilavu is the the Ansari charitable trust. It is running a large number of educational institutions and healthcare centers. The main aim for the foundation of Ansari charitable trust is to help orphans, destitute and women’s. The charitable trust have English school, school of Quran , school of nursing , women’s college , computer college and many other educational institutions. Free education is given to orphanages and also fees concessions are given to students with poor back ground. The school of Quran helps to provide  step by step Quran Learning for different classes.

 The Ansari Hospital is specially meant for poor as it provides high-quality facilities with reasonable price. People from three majour districts Malappuram, Palakkad and Thrissur come here for the treatment. The trust also conducts periodical medical camps. There are special departments for Obstetrics/Gynecology, ophthalmology, neurology etc with art facilities and excellent medical skills. There is a mental health care center for the disables also.

Royal College of Engineering and Technology

Another proud of Perumpilavu is Royal College of Engineering and Technology. It is an NRI venture in the field of technical education. The institution runs 6 main courses which include Civil engineering, computer science, Electronics and communication, electrical and engineering, Applied Electronics and instrumentation and mechanical engineering. This institution helped a lot in changing the outlook of Kunnamkulam as it motivated the village to give a different outlook in the education world. Students from various part of the country come to this institution for gaining knowledge. An active placement cell is working here for the students with active skills and knowledge.

PSM College of Dental Science and Research

The PSM College of Dental Science and Research is affiliated to the University of Calicut is also situated near Perumpilavu. It works under P.S Educational & Charitable Trust that consists of a group of innovative minds. The working of the PSM College has brought an excellence in the educational background of Thrissur with in past some years. Other education institutes in Perumpilavu are St-Mary’s-women’s Arts and science College akkikavu and GHSS Kadavallur.

Kadavallur Panjayath

Kadavallur lies in the northern part of Trissur district. It is located 25.68 km distance from Trissur . It belongs to Chowannur Taluk and had 20 wards. The place is famous for sree ramaswamy temple. It is famous for the Vedic contest called Anyonyam that is held there every year. It is conducted in the month of November.The name kadavaloor was originated from the word gadavalkachapuram. Kadavallur school panchavadhyasangham is very famous as they have gained many prices in state and national levels. Kdavallur was formed in 1961 as per the Kerala panchayath act and the first elected president was C.U. George.
